Graham Cooper is an Irish tenor based in Berlin. Always the theatre kid, he spent his youth performing and accompanying friends and dreamed of being a singer but lacked the courage and support to pursue his dream outright at conservatory. Instead he spent 10 years in academia and ended up in Berlin with a PhD in neuroscience and burn-out, pursuing his passion with hobby and semi-professional work but never fully committing to it. Post-Covid he was fortunate to have some successful auditions as a classical singer; he was finally able to quit neuroscience and perform full-time and has never looked back.

Currently Graham’s main work is as a soloist in operas and classical concerts. As a Young Artist of the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute 2025 he could be heard in Montreal performing in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, as well as in opera gala concerts and masterclasses. In the same year, he made his debut at Concertgebouw Brugge with Mozart’s solo cantatas alongside Christoph Prégardien. Other highlights of his career to date include the role of Ferrando in Così fan tutte with Escales Lyriques, the DUP Tenor in Abomination – A DUP Opera with the Belfast Ensemble, and his solo debut at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie with Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor.

He also has a passion for storytelling through art song. In the 2023/24 season, he participated in the Udo Reinemann International Masterclass in Brussels. At the 20th International Chamber Music Competition in Lyon, he reached the semifinals together with pianist Amelie Warner. He has received multiple awards with pianist Stephanie Daelemans, including prizes from the Triomphe de l’Art Lied Competition in Brussels, the Clara Schumann Competition, and the International Mozart Competition Vienna.
