Joseph Pierce

Musical Director

Placed into a boy choir at age 6, a wide-eyed Joseph began their music life and found themself hopping across the globe, singing in cathedrals, concert halls, and anywhere that would let a gaggle of kids harmonize. At 13, they traded cassocks for a fur hat and a thick accent, belting as the Russian soloist in Fiddler on the Roof. From there, musical theatre had its hooks in them forever. Their passion for music has since grown into a beautiful career where they get to connect, collaborate, and occasionally cry (artistically and the raw ugly kind) with other creatives.

In Berlin, they’ve had the joy of serving as music director for several theatre companies, guiding productions like A Chorus Line, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, and The Wizard of Oz. Each project has been a chance to bring people together through music and theatre while keeping rehearsal rooms equal parts challenging and human.

Favorite role as a performer? Easy—Bobby Strong in Urinetown. Well… except for that one unforgettable summer of ’24, starring alongside their ride-or-die Caroline in I Love You, Because.
