Rachael's CV

Rachael Hastings is a Berlin-based musical theater artist originally from the Midwest USA. Her love of musicals began in childhood with well-worn VHS tapes and grew into a passion for performing in local community theater throughout her teenage years. After a detour into the world of finance, she returned to her creative roots, earning a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance – Musical Theater.

During her studies, Rachael discovered a love for directing, choreographing, and producing educational theater programs for students. After graduating, however, she somehow found herself back in the world of finance. She continued to nurture her love of the arts as an enthusiastic audience member and shared her passion for theater running an annual musical theater summer camp for teens. More than six years later, a move to Berlin sparked a turning point. Seeking both a creative outlet and a sense of community in a new city, Rachael joined a musical theater group where she rediscovered her passion for performing where she finally allowed herself to commit to pursuing her life-long dream of being a musical theater performer.

Her stage credits include The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), A Chorus Line (ensemble; understudy for Maggie Winslow & Sheila Bryant), Godspell – 2011 Revival Version (Uzo), Little Women: The Musical (Amy March), and The Taffetas (Peggy). She has also portrayed multiple characters for children's events with Real Princesses Omaha, directed musical theater summer camps for teens over four summers, and received the Outstanding Youth Actress Award (2009) from the Theatre Arts Guild (TAG) in Omaha, NE. Additionally, she has been a featured soloist in concerts and revue-style productions across Berlin.
